February 2001
Press Release
" Colleges, Universities, and Students Embrace
'On-Demand' Career Counseling Service"
New York, Feb. 19 2001: Less than seven months after its launch, ReadyMinds has directors
of career services and students applauding its service. ReadyMinds is a
rapidly growing company whose proprietary educational distance career counseling
program provides students with a systematic program that assesses their
knowledge base and personal interests, and helps them use this information
in their quest for a meaningful career. With career choices becoming more
complex and workplace demands for higher education more prevalent, students,
parents, companies and employees are seeking out educational and career
services that will give them a competitive advantage. ReadyMinds is meeting
this need. To date, ReadyMinds is working with fifteen Colleges & Universities
and is in discussions with another 25.
The ReadyMinds Program bridges the gap between education and the "Real
World" by integrating on-line assessment content with customized
career development tools and personalized career telecounseling from National
Certified Counselors. Major colleges and universities as well as student-clients
have enthusiastically endorsed the ReadyMinds Program as an excellent
resource and supplement to other student support services. This unique
distance career counseling service is adaptable and student-centered in
both its philosophy and its delivery system. The programs methodology
was developed in collaboration with university career counselors and national
career development experts, and provides students with Career self-management,
In-depth distance career counseling, Self-assessment tools, Exploratory/research
techniques, Strategies for effective decision-making, and Self- marketing
skills.
These program components empower students with knowledge and motivation
so they can achieve their immediate career goals and deal successfully
with future career planning issues.
With career services and placement centers at Colleges and Universities
being overwhelmed with demand, the ReadyMinds Program is a welcome addition.
Working in collaboration with educational institutions, the ReadyMinds
program becomes an extension of, and supplement to, on-campus career counseling.
Students can access career counseling services "on-demand" using
the ReadyMinds web site and extensive network of certified counselors.
This enables the schools own counselors to be more effective as students
come to them better prepared.
Praising the ReadyMinds program, career counseling veteran Karen Ganz,
Associate Dean of Career Services at Manhattanville College said "ReadyMinds
is structured extremely well. It far exceeded expectations and the students
were entirely enthusiastic about the experience. I am pleased to endorse
this program."
As a leader in distance career counseling, ReadyMinds is committed to
ensuring that all students have access to the ReadyMinds program. This
is being accomplished through a series of partnerships with public and
private institutions.
ReadyMinds is a privately held company based in New York City. ReadyMinds
