Press Release -
ReadyMinds and Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus Career Center Launch Distance Career Counseling Service.

Distance Career Counseling offered to Long Island University Graduate Students.

ReadyMinds and Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus today announced a joint initiative to provide distance career counseling to the University's graduate students.

In collaboration with the University, the nationally acclaimed ReadyMinds distance career counseling (DCC™) program will enable graduate students, who often find it difficult to access the career-counseling center during regular business hours, to receive counseling at times that fit their schedules.

The Brooklyn Campus Career Center will work with nationally certified, ReadyMinds- trained counselor, Heidi Ravis, to serve this student population.

Michelle Relyea, Director of Career Services at Long Island University said, I'm pleased that this allows our office to cater to the needs of this segment of our student population, offering them a valuable, well-recognized service that will advance their career goals.

ReadyMinds is in conversation with other academic institutions to establish similar arrangements.

ReadyMinds is a privately held company based in New York City. ReadyMinds abides by the guidelines set forth by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC); the NBCC Code of Ethics and the Standards for the Ethical Practice of Web Counseling. Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus has welcomed a diverse student population since opening in 1926, at a time when other major universities enforced quota systems against racial and ethnic minorities. Some 30,000 students are enrolled at the University's three residential and three regional campuses, including 11,000 at the Brooklyn Campus.
