January 2002 ReadyMinds was represented by Dr. James Malone, Director of Career Counseling, Dr. Karen Miller, Assistant Director of Career Counseling, Lisa Horowitz, University Relations Coordinator, and Randy M. Miller, Founder and CEO. The training workshop included discussions on the evolution of distance career counseling, how to counsel and motivate individuals to make meaningful and effective career/educational choices using a distance counseling model, and the continuous development of a wide variety of proprietary career counseling products and services appropriate to the technology associated with distance career counseling. According to Wright-Swadel, "This was the appropriate time for the Office of Career Services at Harvard University to utilize the expertise of the ReadyMinds Team. Our career counselors are interacting with students and alumni as they study, learn, and work around the world. The ReadyMinds Team has developed effective tools and expertise in the field of distance career counseling, using both cyber and telephone interactions. The ReadyMinds training proved to be extremely informative and should improve our counseling effectiveness as we continue to utilize both media in our career counseling services." ReadyMinds will continue to share its knowledge and expertise with other
institutions across the country and has scheduled plans for distance counseling
trainings and workshops on a national level.
