March 18, 2003 New York, NY., March 18th, 2003-ReadyMinds, the leader in the distance career counseling market, today announced that the initial population sub-contracted to the company by the Consortium for Worker Education (CWE) has been successfully serviced. The agreement between the two organizations, which was signed last summer, called for ReadyMinds to provide career and guidance services to 1000 customers of CWE, many of whom were directly impacted by the events surrounding September 11, 2001. The Consortium provided the funding for this service. Taking advantage of the ReadyMinds counselor base, all of which are National Certified Counselors (NCC), career exploration, job search assistance, and job seeking skills were provided via the ReadyMinds Program. "We felt very confident prior to servicing this population that we could provide valuable assistance to them however the results and client satisfaction surveys completed by this group exceeded my expectations," said Randy Miller, president and CEO of ReadyMinds. Miller continued saying " individuals that participated in this program thanked us (as well as CWE) as in many cases, direction was given to their lives and more specifically their job search. It was particularly gratifying when clients reported back that they felt they were presently employed because of the assistance obtained from their ReadyMinds Counselor." Michael Frey, a key program director with CWE, was most instrumental in establishing this relationship. He expressed satisfaction that the mission to assist the displaced workers of New York City was greatly assisted by the integration of the ReadyMinds Program into the offerings provided by the Consortium for Worker Education. Talks are underway to continue the working relationship and enable additional members of the CWE population to take advantage of the services from ReadyMinds. Additionally, plans are being discussed to further integrate services from both organizations to further assist the displaced worker population.
