Press Release - Garry R. Walz, Ph.D., NCC Joins ReadyMinds

Walz brings Extensive Experience to Leading Distance Career Counseling Provider

New York, September 2, 2003: ReadyMinds, the most widely adopted Distance Career Counseling (DCC) solution provider in the marketplace, announced today that Garry Walz has agreed to join the organization to enhance and expand upon the areas of research and development, as well as assist in future strategic planning.

Dr Walz, an internationally recognized leader in the field of career development and career counseling, brings to the position over 30 years of experience in the field. He has authored numerous books, professional articles and programs covering a broad array of topics but in particular focusing on career development, cybercounseling, assessment and testing and knowledge utilization. Additionally, Dr Walz has been the Co-Director of the ERIC Counseling and Student Services Clearinghouse at the University of Michigan and recently the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He is also professor emeritus of the University of Michigan.

Walz is a strong advocate of the design and use of career development delivery systems that overcome the challenges of distance and time. The ReadyMinds Model is based upon effective and professional delivery of career counseling. It utilizes a well-structured and developed distance delivery, which is a natural marriage with Dr. Walz' philosophy. Dr. Walz will leverage his expertise to make immediate contributions to ReadyMinds as the company further develops and implements products and services related to the high school market.

Randy Miller, Founder and CEO of ReadyMinds, commenting upon Walz joining ReadyMinds, said "It is a unique opportunity to welcome to the ReadyMinds Team an individual like Dr. Walz' who enjoys immense stature within the counseling field. This came about as a result of an individual and an organization sharing a similar philosophy and the willingness of both parties to learn and gain from each other."

Garry Walz stated: "Making a viable career plan is probably the most important challenge facing every person today - young or old. It strongly impacts on how they will live, both in the present and in the future. It is nearly impossible for individuals to be sufficiently informed about themselves and the environment to make the viable decisions needed in today's world. For such critical decisions, a person needs the best assistance available anywhere and anytime. In my experience, ReadyMinds, through its masterful research-based career counseling program and highly competent counselors, stands alone in providing what every person needs and deserves. It is with great professional and personal satisfaction that I join with ReadyMinds and, through research and development, contribute to further enhance the quality and range of services they provide."

Garry Walz brings unparalleled leadership skills and the ideal blend of business and counseling strategy to ReadyMinds. Dr Walz will be officially joining ReadyMinds on September 1, 2003 as of Director of Research and Development.
