October 14, 2005 Press Release- ReadyMinds and Long Island University Extend Working Relationship to Provide Distance Career Counseling Program for Graduate Students and Alumni Population Lyndhurst, NJ, October 14, 2005 - ReadyMinds and Long Island University (LIU), Brooklyn Campus, announced today that ReadyMinds will continue to deliver distance career counseling services to the LIU Graduate and Alumni population. ReadyMinds initially began providing this service in October of 2002. The extension of the agreement between LIU and ReadyMinds will allow for services to be provided through 2006 and into 2007. What began as a pilot program with a specifically designated small level of student participation has now grown to become a significant university offering that provides beneficial career guidance and planning services for hundreds of participants. Michelle Relyea, Dean of Academic and Instructional Resources at Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus, indicated, "our continued relationship with ReadyMinds has enhanced LIU's services to the graduate and alumni populations. Recognizing that both graduate students and alumni tend to lead very busy lives, the ReadyMinds Program offers these populations the opportunity to utilize career counseling services that are convenient for them. The design of the ReadyMinds career counseling program allows flexibility for daytime, evening, or weekend appointments; furthermore, these appointments can be from home or from the office. This program has been a great addition to the Office of Career Services." Ed Schwartz, Vice President of Operations for ReadyMinds, said, "ReadyMinds is very pleased to see a continued pattern indicating the consistent growth of our relationship with Long Island University. This is a service that positively impacts LIU, ReadyMinds, and most importantly the students and alumni who participate in the program."
