High School Students

I am getting ready to graduate and go on to college. Can ReadyMinds help me choose a major?

We understand that choosing a major can be a difficult task. ReadyMinds can help you get a better sense of what academic major might be appropriate for you by evaluating your interests, skills, and values. Consequently, this increased awareness can help you focus more clearly on majors which match your possible areas of career interest and goals.

Between my school work and activities outside of school I am extremely busy. I could really use your services but don't know how I can fit it into my schedule.

Our ReadyMinds Counselors are dedicated to working around your busy schedule. That is why our counselors are available in the evening, on weekends and during vacations. You can receive your counseling when it is convenient for you!

How can I relate the things that I like to do and that I am good at to a possible career field?

That is exactly why we are here. You can learn about your personal style and talents while starting the career search process. We use a uniquely designed assessment technique to help you relate your interests, skills, and values to a career path that is most suitable to you. ReadyMinds can help you make smart decisions about your future.

Are there part-time jobs I can do while I am in high school that can help me in my future career plans? Or can you help with my first job?

Yes. Our counselors can advise you about internships or options from among certain types of part-time jobs that may help you jump-start your career at an early age. You can never start too soon and the more work experience you have, the easier it will be to find your first full-time job in the real world.

Why is ReadyMinds a worth-while investment for me and my family?

You and your parents or guardians are investing a tremendous amount of time, energy, and money to provide you with a valuable education. The ReadyMinds Program can give you the necessary tools to make your education work for you with your future career choices.

Is distance counseling effective?

Research indicates that distance counseling can be very effective, especially with career planning. In addition to providing convenience and greater time flexibility, distance counseling tends to be more structured than face-to-face counseling. As a result, the counselor and client may be more focused and specific as they deal with issues and concerns.
