Phase 1: Online Assessments

Your first step in the process, prior to your initial counseling session, will be to complete three assessments online.

• Education/Career History - a brief summary of these areas.
• General Survey - open ended questions identifying your skills, interests and values.
• SDS (Self-Directed Search) - the most widely utilized interest inventory in the world used to identify your likes and dislikes.

The information and time you spend on these assessments will be of great value as you proceed with your career planning.

Phase 2: Counselor Matching

Once you complete your online assessments, the information you provided is carefully reviewed and you are matched with a National Certified Counselor who is best suited and most knowledgeable in your particular field of interest, geographic location, level of experience, and/or phase of your career life-cycle and development.

Your counselor will analyze your surveys, begin preliminary research, and prepare for your first counseling session.

Phase 3: One-On-One Sessions

After a ReadyMinds Career Counselor has been selected to match your individual needs, one-on-one telecounseling sessions (via the telephone) are arranged at times most convenient for you. You and your counselor will evaluate your initial assessment, explore your career and academic options and research a career path that is most suited to your individual needs.

The sessions will allow you to obtain:

• 120 minutes of personalized telecounseling
• in-depth career advice
• resume/cover letter review
• tutorials on interviewing techniques
• job search and employment recommendations

Phase 4: "Insight Into U™"

So now that you've outlined your skills and values and discussed your future with a personal confidant, it's time to review the outcome of your ReadyMinds experience. You'll receive a four page written summary of your sessions called "Insight Into U™," including an assessment of your skills and strengths, feedback about your career options and a detailed action plan, explaining how to obtain your career objectives. Here, you will discover what career/academic decisions are right for you!

Phase 5: Ongoing Relationship

Still have questions? Since ReadyMinds strives to help you achieve your career goals, you will have access to your ReadyMinds Career Counselor for a one-year period for any additional e-mail questions and answers that relate to your career planning and success. You may continue to visit your personal web page and have the opportunity to receive additional career counseling sessions at discounted rates. The ReadyMinds team will make sure that your individual needs are met!
