ARTHUR MISSAN, J.D., M.B.A., Career Management Consultant Arthur Missan has delivered career management consulting services to more than 2000 individual clients at all organizational levels since 1982. His clients have come from a wide range of functional roles and have represented nearly all industries. Additionally, Art has presented hundreds of training events, ranging from three hours to three days in length, on topics covering the full range of career management and transition issues. Most recently Art has been a consultant for Keystone Associates, a Boston-based outplacement firm. For the prior 13 years he was a senior consultant with Right Management Consultants (RMC), a leading outplacement firm with offices worldwide. In addition to individual career management consulting and group workshop facilitation he has written or revised sections of the RMC manual for executive clients and has revised two of the principal assessment tools used company wide. Art has been published in the National Business Employment Weekly on the subjects of resume writing, the importance of support groups and the importance of remaining flexible during a job search. During the recession of the early 1990s he co-facilitated a job seekers support group in his hometown for three years. Before joining RMC, Art held positions as a search consultant for attorneys and as a career management consultant with the Boston and Philadelphia offices of a startup career management firm. There he authored the individual client manual used by that firm for nearly twelve years. A member of the Massachusetts Bar, Art practiced law for seven years as a trial attorney in Boston. A Vietnam Veteran, he served in the U.S. Army Finance Corps. Art was graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in English. He also
holds an MBA from Northeastern University and a J.D. from the New England
School of Law. Art has been qualified to administer and interpret the
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), and has had extensive training and
experience in the use of the Strong Interest Inventory, and the Lifestyles
Inventory. He has also been trained in the use of the OSI, the Campbell
Interest and Skills Survey, and several other instruments.
