Throughout her career, Carol Gelatt has dedicated herself to guiding executives through uncertainty and change, whether in their careers or in their organizations. From an individual perspective, Carol works with executives to enhance their leadership effectiveness and to successfully manage career transitions. As a partner, advisor and sounding board, Carol's emphasis is on clients on defining their focus, building concrete plans, taking purposeful action, problem solving, making creative decisions when dealing with uncertainty and achieving what they want. For organizations, Carol assists executives with the assessment, design, implementation and management of organizational change initiatives and programs focused on both the business and human sides of change. Carol brings a unique blend of business management, senior level leadership, coaching and consulting experience to her work. Before establishing Gelatt Partners with her husband, HB Gelatt, in 2001, she spent six years in executive roles with two privately-held Internet companies. Carol was Vice President of Marketing and University Relations for eProNet, an online recruiting business. Prior to eProNet, Carol was employee #2 and Vice President of Content and Product Development for MindSteps, a web-based software developer. Before joining MindSteps, Carol spent 13 years with Drake Beam Morin, a worldwide leader in career and change management consulting. Carol held a variety of senior management positions at DBM including Senior Vice President of DBM Training & Consulting, founder and Managing Director of DBM's Silicon Valley office, and Product Manager for DBM's selection management business. The winner of two DBM excellence awards, Carol has a track record of success in coaching, consulting, management, product development, marketing, sales and operations. After receiving her masters degree in counseling, Carol spent nearly three years as a management development trainer for the federal government and career counselor in higher education. She was the founding director of the Career Development Center and a member of the graduate faculty at John F. Kennedy University. A fourth-generation Californian, Carol enhances the quality of her whole life by cooking, gardening, practicing yoga, skiing, spending time with family and friends and participating in a variety of community activities. She is a long-time House and Garden Docent at the Filoli Historic Estate. Carol is also a marathon walker the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training, a volunteer chef assistant at Draeger's Culinary Center and a holiday food and toy drive volunteer for Community Services Agency of Mountain View and Los Altos.
