Job Seeker / Graduate Student, UNC - Chapel Hill
"I think the program was very good. I think it is especially good
for someone who can't meet during traditional office hours. I spoke with
my counselor at times when school was closed. I also feel that the program
did very well helping me, a graduate student, looking to transition out
of the academy. I felt comfortable with my counselor and with the advice
and suggestions she gave me. The program that you offer is stellar. The
feedback that you provided through Insight Into U and appropriate
website links were great too. Overall, this program is really great and
I would highly recommend it to graduate students and undergraduates."

"I was impressed with my counselor's knowledge of me after only
one conversation. This knowledge led to very effective recommendations.
Her knowledge of the interview process and the process in which I build
relationships with potential employers was tremendously helpful. Her sincerity
and caring was greatly appreciated. The ReadyMinds Program itself would
be an asset to anyone looking to enhance his/her career development."

My counselor helped me think about how to pursue alternatives in a career
in education. She summarized my skills, interests, and values clearly
and gave me some resources - book references, ideas on networking and
consulting."

ReadyMinds is a cleverly designed service that assists people of
multifarious backgrounds by fulfilling their needs and wants on a personal,
social, and professional level. As a business major at Boston University's
School of Management, I found the one-on-one counseling sessions to be
productive as my counselor understood my concerns about life during and
after college. After listening to me and studying my answers for various
surveys, she offered constructive feedback on how to seek and enhance
the chances of attaining an internship and landing a job of my preference
after graduation. With the friendly staff, there is always someone available
24/7 via email to answer my questions and track my academic and professional
progress. I think any person with questions and a creative mind is an
ideal candidate - it is just a matter of discovering your hidden talents.
It is a program that cannot be outdated, because the
possibilities in life are endless and we as individuals hold the power
in our hands to mold our future."

Junior, Cornell University
"The ReadyMinds program helped me to realize that wanting to achieve
many goals is okay but one has to try to separate them and work on each
goal, one at a time. Another aspect of the program dealt with looking
at strengths and weaknesses. It is truly amazing to look at your strengths
and to be able to pinpoint the weaknesses and work on them. The ReadyMinds
experience proved to be helpful and I learned that a great deal of this
process is up to me. I am ready and willing to work on finding my career
in life and am motivated to do so. I will continue to keep you updated.
Thank you!"

"My counselor was a pleasure to work with and made the counseling
process a truly enjoyable one. She walked me through my different career
options and clarified what each field entails. She described my personality
traits and what I can look for to help improve my decision-making. She
also provided me with great information and different websites that can
help me in my career decision-making process. Thank you!"

"I definitely enjoyed my experience with ReadyMinds. It not only
was convenient and casual, but also focused me on my career goals and
helped me understand more about what I value in a career. I would highly
recommend the program to any student or professional seeking his/her next
step in his/her career. The counselors were all eager to help and give
insightful advice, as well as encouragement. The web site that summarized
our conversations was one of the greatest parts of the program. Thanks
for a great experience, and I will look forward to carrying out the plan
I laid out with my ReadyMinds Counselor."

"ReadyMinds counselors are extremely flexible in meeting the demands
of often time's hectic student schedules and are available in the evening
and even on the weekends. This turned out to be very convenient. My personalized
counselor called my dorm room and we discussed my own career goals and
concerns. We also discussed interviewing techniques, as well as job hunting
strategies. Throughout the entire process, I found my counselor to be
helpful, understanding, and genuinely caring towards my particular circumstances.
I truly feel that the ReadyMinds procedure was very helpful and informative,
and a good place to start the career searching process."

"My experience with ReadyMinds has been exciting and very helpful.
My counselor was friendly, and very knowledgeable about a variety of industries
and careers. She cleared up a lot of questions I had, and provided me
with information on different careers. She also suggested books on self-exploration
to help me better understand myself, and what I would want or like in
a career. I would recommend anyone needing career advice to give ReadyMinds
a chance. You won't be disappointed! You'll be glad you did!"

"My ReadyMinds Counselor made me realize the importance of the connection
between my personal interests and my career goals - amazingly enough,
I had always kept them fairly separate. Since she is a counseling psychologist
herself, she provided me with an insight into the field. Finally, (and
there are many more wonderful things I could say about her!), I really
valued her ideas on how to go about researching my chosen field. She had
a different perspective from mine, which gave me some fresh new ideas.
Thanks!"

Junior, Emory University
"My ReadyMinds counselor really took the time during our counseling
sessions to make sure that she had a clear understanding of what I was
looking for in a career. She was very supportive regarding my personal
difficulties and concerns with finding a perfect career fit, as well as
what would make me happy. Filling out the ReadyMinds general survey and
assessment forms upfront enabled me to share with my counselor things
about myself that would not have been apparent if I had just met my counselor
for the first time in an office face-to-face
this was very helpful.
By getting to know me during the counseling sessions and using her own
time after the sessions to do an analysis of my needs, I felt that the
time we had was used efficiently, thus maximizing the benefit to me. I
genuinely would recommend the ReadyMinds Program to anyone looking for
career assistance and direction."

initially didn't have answers to."

"I very much enjoyed the ReadyMinds Program. The best part of
it is that the counseling sessions were very professional without being
dry. The phone conversations were extremely helpful and are going to be
very good for students in the future because they are convenient. I think
that most college students at this age, especially those in liberal arts
colleges, are very anxious about their fate after college. My counselor
showed me that there are other possibilities aside from the corporate
track. It was helpful to talk to a counselor who knew a lot about the
college process and up-to-date information. I really have to emphasize
the accessibility and the easygoing character of my counselor."

"I just wanted to tell you how beneficial ReadyMinds has been.
My personal counselor truly helped me fix up my resume and cover letter.
It now looks very professional and I'm very pleased with the way they
came out. Also, my counselor gave me some great advice when it came to
trying to find an internship. She pointed me in the right direction either
via books or online websites that could help me. Overall, I felt that
the ReadyMinds experience was very beneficial toward my understanding
and obtainment of my goals. I feel that it could truly benefit many college
students in their self discovery of their goals."

Senior, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
I think the most effective part of the counseling is that at the
very beginning the counselor and student set clear goals as to what they
will be working on together for the rest of the process. By defining what
is important to be worked on, it left room to really explore these issues.
The program got me thinking about the issues I need to be thinking about
at this stage in my career. Many things we discussed were things I could
have searched out on the Internet, but by having this program it brought
the information to me, and woke me up to what I need to be working on
right now. My counselor knew what she was talking about, yet always presented
her ideas as an opinion, and gave no pressure to take what she said as
the advice to follow.

confident about my decisions. My counselor said I was insightful about
myself. I felt connected to my counselor and would love a follow up contact
in 6-8 months to assess my status."

Senior, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
"I found my two counseling sessions to be enormously helpful.
As a college senior, I have felt pressed for time to make a decision about
my next step. I was under the impression that I had pretty well researched
all areas for possible careers, and that I could not find one to suit
my talents and interests. So, for me, the most helpful part about ReadyMinds
was that my counselor was able to give me suggestions for five or six
types of careers I never even knew existed. I am in the process now of
investigating those, and though I haven't reached a decision yet about
what to do next year, I feel like whatever choice I make will be a much
wiser one than I would have made on my own."

"It helped me realize what direction to go in. The counselor
helped me figure out my goals. Which I still don't know what they are,
but she did give me a good idea on what alternatives and direction I can
choose to go in. Also the way I should approach life in general and what
to expect from it."
