Training Options For Counselors and Facilitators

Distance Credentialed Counselor (DCC™) In- Person Two-Day Training Program - This training is of great benefit to counselors in a wide range of settings, including colleges and universities, community colleges, schools K-12, One-Stop Career Centers, employees assistance programs, human resources, counseling and social service centers and private practice. It sets the standard for expertise in this evolving practice specialty. If you qualify to obtain the DCC credential, you will be nationally recognized as a professional with training in best practices in Distance Counseling. Additionally, if you are a National Certified Counselor, you will receive 15 continuing education hours for your participation in this two-day DCC training. Please note that if you attend a DCC Training that says 'Mental Health Concentration' you are eligible to receive as a U.S. Psychologist, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, CA Nurse, and IL & TX Teachers/Educators 15 Continuing Education hours (please click here for more information about the continuing educations hours). Distance Credentialed Counselor (DCC™) ONLINE Training Program (Mental Health Concentration) - This training is of great benefit to counselors in a wide range of settings, including counseling and social service centers, private practice, colleges and universities, community colleges, employees assistance programs, and human resources. The Training is done completely online, is self-paced and results in 15 NBCC approved Continuing Education hours as well as 15 Continuing Education hours for all U.S. Psychologists, Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and certain other healthcare professionals (please click here for more information about the continuing educations hours). Distance Credential Facilitator (DCF) On-line Training Program - This training is an online course that can be successfully completed at times that are convenient for the participant. Facilitation is an interactive process to help clients in many areas including business, career, finances, health and relationships. The client and facilitator are active collaborators for the purpose of meeting the client's needs. Facilitation practice is recognized as a valid and valuable approach to helping clients and staff. Facilitators may serve as:

• Career center staff
• Career coaches
• Career development case managers
• Career group facilitators
• Employment/placement specialists
• Human resources personnel
• Intake interviewers
• Job search trainers
• Life coaches
• Mentors
• Social services
• Occupational and labor market information resource persons
• Workforce development personnel and others

Individuals who obtain the Distance Credentialed Facilitator (DCF) title can effectively provide assistance to clients in the area of life career development and planning. They may also facilitate the fostering and maintenance of interpersonal relationships but essentially in the context of helping clients to plan for, and maintain successful functioning within, the world of work. Distance Credentialed Facilitators can offer their services via appropriate technology-assisted methods. They will seek supervisions/consultation, as required by the ethical standards that apply to Distance Credentialed Facilitation and those standards that govern their professional scope of Practice.
